Prepare Your Workspace\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eWork in a well-ventilated area and use a fan for good airflow.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003ePut on your gloves and dust mask.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eStep 2. Pour Your Acetone\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003ePour about 1 ounce of acetone into a small paper or glass container.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eThis acetone will be used to keep the WoodCast soft and pliable while you work.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eStep 3. Select Your Mould\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eChoose the Amy Howard at Home mould you will use for your casting.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eStep 4. Open Your WoodCast\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eOpen your WoodCast can and remove a small amount of material.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eStep 5. Keep the WoodCast Soft\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003ePlace the WoodCast into the container with acetone to keep it soft and workable.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eSeal the plastic bag inside the can after each use to keep the remaining WoodCast fresh.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eStep 6. Begin Filling the Mould\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eStart placing small amounts of WoodCast into your mould.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003ePress the WoodCast into all details and corners of the mould.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eUse additional acetone as needed to keep the material pliable.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eStep 7. Fill \u0026amp; Smooth the Surface\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eContinue adding WoodCast until the mould is completely filled.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eAs you reach the top, use a small amount of acetone and your finger to smooth the surface level.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eStep 8. Allow to Dry\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eMost castings will dry in 4 to 5 hours.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eDeeper moulds may need to dry overnight.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eStep 9. Remove the Casting\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eOnce dry, gently bend the mould away from the edges of the casting.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eCarefully pull the WoodCast out until it releases completely.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eUse an X-Acto knife to carefully trim away any excess material if needed.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eStep 10. Attach Your Casting\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eUse quick-set wood glue for wood surfaces.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eUse a quick-set glue designed for other materials when attaching to non-wood surfaces.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eStep 11.
